Theatre & Company and part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras
Nominated for five 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical, Falsettos is an hilarious and poignant look at a modern family revolving around the life of a gay man Marvin, his wife, his lover, his soon to be bar mitzvah’d son, their psychiatrist, and the lesbians next door.
It is a seamless pairing of March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland, acclaimed Off-Broadway musicals written nearly a decade apart. Originally created under the spectre of the AIDS crisis, this timely musical about middle class family dynamics manages to remain buoyant and satirically perceptive even as it moves towards its heartbreaking conclusion.

Linda Hale as Trina
Linda has been performing in musical theatre since primary school many moons ago! Recently she has particularly relished playing Dragon in “Shrek” (WTC), Dusty Springfield in “Dusty” (CMS), Alice in “The Addams Family” and Ursula in “The Little Mermaid” (Stage Artz) and spoofs on Liza, Patti and Barbra in “Forbidden Broadway: Greatest Hits” (Squabbalogic) among many other roles.
Linda loves the surprising & expressive music of William Finn. She has previously appeared in two seasons of “Spelling Bee” as Rona, and produced “Elegies” for 2016 Mardi Gras so “Falsettos” marks both her debut with Theatre & Company and her third Finn musical overall.
Aleks Justin as Whizzer
With numerous musical productions, cabarets, pantomimes and smaller concerts under his belt, Aleks continues to chase his passion for musical theatre by seeking out new and exciting roles and opportunities.
2019 was one of the most challenging years yet for Aleks, playing Frank Abagnale Jr. in “Catch Me If You Can The Musical” (BMSI), taking a swing at Dear Evan Hansen in “A-Z of Musical Showstoppers” (WTC) & spinning on the floor as Fyedka in “Fiddler On The Roof” (WTC). That said, he is equally if not more so excited to take on the role of Whizzer alongside such a talented group of performers that is the “Falsettos” Cast. Aleks would like to thank them along with the production team for being an absolute pleasure to work with and helping him grow and develop as a performer.
Oscar Langmar as Jason
Fourteen year old Oscar oozes loads of energy, passion and dedication when it comes to performing. At the young age of two he started dance lessons in ballet, jazz & tap. Soon enough, he’d taken up singing & musical theatre.
Oscar has been fortunate in his career thus far to have had many opportunities, from being cast in tv commercials to performing in several Operas, such as “Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci”, “Parsifal” and two seasons of “La Bohème” including the recent January 2020 production (Opera Australia).
Oscar recently played the role of Young Guido in “Nine“ (Little Triangle). He also had the privilege of singing the National Anthem at Qudos Bank Arena for the Doubleheader of Sydney Uni Flames WNBL & Sydney Kings baseball game.
Other highlights include performing at a charity function, wedding, Sydney Royal Easter Show & many Eisteddfods! He also enjoys playing the alto & tenor saxophone, drama, debating, basketball, Hungarian scouts, attending musicals, hanging out with friends and is currently a black tip in Taekwando.
Oscar is inspired by many artists, especially Hugh Jackman. He can see himself performing in the arts industry as a full time career one day!
