Six Decades. One tradition. Celebrating 60 Years! Honouring the past. Inspiring the future. Keeping our heritage alive with every step and beat of the drum.
Every culture has a story. Our story is shared through music, dance, traditional costume and rhythms rich in centuries old tales passed from one generation to the next and celebrated with a hint of modern artistic flare.
This year we proudly celebrate 60 YEARS of MKUD Ilinden Sydney serving as a living ‘Amanet’ – a preservation in motion of our rich Macedonian folklore.
‘Amanet’ is a legacy entrusted to us. The heart-warming songs our grandparents sang; the oro our parents danced with us in their arms; the intricate beauty of the costumes we dress our children in; the roar of the tapan we feel in our bones; and the love cherished by friends who become family each week as we walk through the doors of our beloved Ilinden.
With tradition in our hearts and fire in our steps we showcase rhythms from around Macedonia, stunning choreographies and one unbreakable spirit across TWO hours from over 150 dancers!
Join us for a spectacular celebration of 60 years as we come together to honour the past, celebrate the present and inspire the future.
This is our heritage.
This is our moment.
This is our Amanet.
