Fun, educational, interesting, intelligent and utterly captivating.

Pyramids. Hieroglyphs. Spells. Few civilisations capture the imagination quite like Ancient Egypt: a world of mystery, magic and mildly concerning burial practices. Now, award-winning comedian and amateur Egyptologist AJ Lamarque (Celebrity Letters & Numbers, ABC Radio Evenings) invites you to unwrap the myths in a crash course 5,000 years in the making.

After selling out his tour across the country this year with rave reviews, AJ is headed to Parramatta with his hit adults-only hour that’s the history class you wish you got in school. Expect gods, pop culture and a few historically questionable practices along the way.

Standing Inn-Ovation

“Lamarque is a remarkably talented comedian. Deftly weaving through depictions of Egypt in pop culture, ancient medicine and the daily life of regular citizens, he delivers shrewd observations and joyously relates ancient life to modern memes in an incredibly clever and entertaining manner.”
