Nalinam, a duet Bharatanatyam recital performed by Durga Shivaji and Sahana Nadakumar, students of Seran Sribalan and Christopher Gurusamy.
Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form from Tamil Nadu, South India, with origins in ancient temples where it was performed as a sacred offering. Deeply rooted in spirituality and discipline, the dance form is characterised by geometric precision, sculptural poses, and a seamless blend of nritta (pure dance), nritya (expressive dance), and natya (dramatic storytelling).
Durga and Sahana, along with a team of Carnatic musicians, bring to life a traditional repertoire with their own unique flair, sharing both classic and new choreographies by themselves and their mentors.
