FORM Dance Projects and Riverside Theatres present
Dance Bites 2022
We Are Here Company
Directed By Emma Saunders
Radical Transparency is a new rollicking work by the We are Here Company exploring the intersection between honesty and artifice, wild and tame, light and dark, raw and manufactured, and how on earth in this day and age we are going to present new dance work that is sustainable, wild, buoyant and afloat while it feels like everything is sinking.
The We Are Here Company holds artistry, performative range and collaboration in its work, contributing and redefining the current look, approach and style of Australian contemporary dance. The We Are Here Company is a new, breakthrough contemporary dance company like no other. It comprises of powerful performers (aged 20-30 yrs) who are open minded, able to dance with ‘heart’ and exhibit performative and choreographic potential.
At its helm is the formidable and award winning artist Emma Saunders. From directing the highly successful Encounter season at Sydney Festival 2020 to the We Are Here Company, Emma brings her wealth of dance experience, energy and generosity.

SUITABLE FOR YEARS 8 – 12
Dance Bites is FORM Dance Projects’ curated signature program of dance works produced by some of Australia’s most innovative and exciting independent choreographers and companies. Dance Bites celebrates the diversity of contemporary dance making. Learn the Repertoire, See the Show offers dance students an opportunity to learn from each of the Dance Bites performances in a workshop led by the presenting artist(s). Alongside the workshop, students experience a matinee performance and post-show Q&A with the artistic team.
This 1-hour workshop will reflect the working style of how the company works in the studio including warm ups, reworked Year-8 drama games turned into tricky dancing scores, improvisational and choreographic tasks that help develop and broaden dancing processes, followed by a series of performative tasks.
