A Double Bill of Contemporary Flamenco Solos with Music

Two of the leading exponents of contemporary flamenco dance in Australia share this exciting double bill of original solo performances.

Forge is a striking new dance-music collaboration between award-winning choreographer Annalouise Paul, pianist-sound designer Marianthe Loucataris and vocalist Helen Rivero. Evoking a blacksmith’s iron furnace, FORGE casts flamenco anew through contemporary dance, the percussive power of the piano and Sephardi song – out of the fires of invention, life forges on…

Inspired by the Australian bush, Pepa Molina reinterprets traditional flamenco in Bush Bailando and is accompanied by an original score by Hector Gonzalez Sanchez and Marco van Doornum.

This is Flamenco like you’ve never seen it before!

Join the Saturday evening post-show fiesta when dance lovers and musicians are invited to jam with the artists. This event is free for ticket holders.

“You can see brushstrokes of contemporary dance in Pepa Molina’s work, that far from disturbing the flamenco dance, enrich it with new dimensions.”  – J. Fernàndez Bustos, Granada Hoy

“Credit must be given to Annalouise Paul. Such forward thinkers are needed to push doors open and to discover new pathways.” – Indus Age

Please Note: This performance has a 15 minute lock out period
