Go behind the scenes during Local Government Week

Exclusive backstage tours of the Wicked set at Riverside Theatres and heritage tours of Parramatta are just some of the activities which will be available to residents and visitors as part of City of Parramatta’s Local Government Week celebrations.

The Week, which runs from Monday 1 August to Sunday 7 August, is an opportunity for councils across NSW to engage with their communities and provide an insight into the many services they deliver.

This year’s Local Government Week theme, Our Council, Our Community, explores the various aspects of councils’ work which is embedded into every day community life including, but not limited to, seniors’ support, early learning centres, libraries and community events.

“Each day Council seeks to work closely with our community to ensure that we are delivering the right services and support across our Local Government Area, so the theme for this year’s celebration is quite fitting,” City of Parramatta Administrator Amanda Chadwick said.

“I encourage our community to get involved in the activities planned during Local Government Week, engage with Council and experience a small sample of the services we provide.”

Registrations for Local Government Week activities are now open and places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
