The Prince of Egypt – The Musical is the mesmerising and spectacularly immersive filming of the critically-acclaimed West End stage adaptation. With songs written by Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz.
Filmed live at the Dominion Theatre in London, the show featured a cast and orchestra of 60, making it one of the biggest musicals ever staged.
The musical is based on the award-winning 1998 DreamWorks Animation film which captivated audiences across the world and took $218m at the global box office. The stage show features 5 of Stephen Schwartz’s acclaimed songs from the DreamWorks Animation film, including the hit ‘When You Believe’, plus 10 brand-new songs. The original cast soundtrack was nominated for a 2021 Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album and has had over 12M streams to date.
Set in Ancient Egypt, The Prince of Egypt tells the story of two young men, Moses and Ramses, raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege who find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
