The Dataset is a reflection on the complex attachment between humanity and data, questioning the implications of system failure on individual identity and collective survival.
Experience the integration of movement, light, sound and data, as Alison Plevey and Sara Black enter a world where data systems pervade their lives, wielding significant influence in shaping their existence.
“The pseudo-scientific aspects of the production are brilliantly realised, creating a slightly surreal hypnotic effect.”
– Bill Stephens, Australian Arts Review

Learn the Repertoire, See the Show offers dance students a unique opportunity to learn repertoire in a workshop led by the choreographer, see a matinee performance and participate in a post-show Q&A.
Led by Australian Dance Party, the workshop will begin with a warm up followed by an introduction to improvisation and choreographic tools used within the process of creating The Dataset. Students will learn a portion of repertoire from the work and develop tools to create their own choreographic works.
