Get your ho-ho-ho-larious comedy fix this holiday season!

Every month Sydney Comedy Club comedians walk into Raffertys Theatre for a whole lot of funny business!

Yule laugh this Christmas season, with these top-rating (and rather ho-larious) comedians.

The December line-up* is:

Henry Zhu

Having performed in Australia, China, and the US, Henry’s known around the world as a comedian who not only writes jokes, but also performs them in front of an audience.

He has recently completed a run of his show, Zhu Fast Zhu Furious, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival. He is also considered to be in the top 4 funniest members in his family.

Dane Hiser

Fundraiser by day, fun-raiser by night! Dane is far more confident on stage than he has any right to be. “All over the place” is an apt description of both where he’s performed comedy and of his life. He’s gigged with comedy icons like The Doug Anthony Allstars and Tony Martin. Dane’s featured in Matt Okine’s hit Stan TV series ‘The Other Guy’ as well as in ads for various brands and products he refuses to promote in this bio unless they give him more cash.

“Dane Hiser is as hilarious as he is original. F*%k, he made me laugh,” Fiona O’Loughlin.

“When I first met Dane, I thought to myself “he’ll never be funny”, then BAM!!! Like a superhero out of a phone booth…” Tommy Dean.

“Flaunting ones foibles is part and parcel with being a stand-up comedian, but Dane Hiser manages to highlight his in a refreshing and compelling manner,” Nyssa Packham, Weekend Notes.

JJ Mullard

First coming to Australia in the 80s, JJ quickly established himself as a big favourite with Australian audiences, everything from TV to the Comedy Store and touring with International Stars. Now, back in Australia, JJ is wowing a whole new audience. With his sharp mix of observational humour and quick-fire gags, JJ cleverly bridges the gap between new and old-style comedy and is hugely popular with audiences of all ages.

Jamal Abdul

Born into an ethnically diverse family to his Italian mother and Arab father, Jamal, at three months old, was diagnosed with a rare eye condition, which is the cause of his blindness. From the beginning, He was an outsider observing the world and the people around him from a perspective few would share with him. Jamal’s “I’m not weird, you’re weird” attitude makes his stand-up comedy performances so unique.

After winning the Stand Up and Be Counted Comedy Competition in 2017, Jamal began making waves in the Sydney comedy scene. He became a RAW Comedy State Finalist in 2018, legitimising himself as a Sydney comedy mainstay.

He has since gone on to self-produce his own sell-out shows at the Sydney Comedy Festival and has been selected to tour around Australia in the Are You Pulling My Leg Comedy Showcase.

Brett Hunter

Brett has travelled worldwide for comedy, including London, the USA, Bali, Bangkok, and all the big clubs in Australia. He will keep you on the edge of your seat with his witty and funny comedy. Brett has performed at the last 3 Melbourne International Comedy Festivals and the Adelaide Fringe Festival & is a regular at Melbourne’s Comics Lounge.

Joe Comino

Joe Comino is a storyteller who makes people laugh. With his likeable persona and strong stage presence, audiences are always ready for a good time when Joe takes the microphone.

With over 15 years in the comedy circuit, Joe has refined his act to tell stories based on real-life experience. Raised by penny-pinching Maltese parents in Sydney’s ethnically diverse western suburbs, growing up and working with a diverse group of nationalities that would rival the United Nations, has created the person Joe is today. Audiences can’t stop laughing as they see Joe’s life as a reflection of their own (in some crazy, messed up way).

A regular of the Sydney stand-up comedy scene, Joe was on Housos television show and support act for their national comedy tour. He has performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, as well as Sydney and Adelaide Fringe Festivals. Joe has won multiple stand-up competitions, including Triple M Moonman’s Open Mic.
