Get a dose of the funnies with Sydney Comedy Club’s top-rating (and rather hilarious) comedians.

The August line-up* is:

Richard Lindesay

A musical comedian whose act is a unique and surprising mixture of recorders and flutes, original songs, clown-like physical comedy, and sharp one-liner jokes – Richard Lindesay‘s performances are praised by audiences as being inclusive, inoffensive and joyous.

After many years honing his craft in comedy clubs and festivals throughout the UK and mainland Europe, in 2020, Richard was selected for the UK Musical Comedy Awards, which discovers the best musical comedians each year from hundreds of participants. Making a huge impact during the heats of the competition, he was put straight through to the Grand Final. Richard was ultimately unable to perform in the finals due to COVID implications but was tipped by judges as a favourite to win.

In June 2023, Richard broke out on social media with his first hit song, Recorder in the Corner, which collected tens of millions of views on TikTok and subsequently amassed over one million streams within a month on Spotify and other streaming services. His songs have been used on TikTok by the Paralympics and USA Major League Baseball.

Proving his staying power with high engagement on his clips and weekly live sessions on TikTok, Richard continues to build a worldwide following of close to 700,000 across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

Michael Vincent

He’s the up-and-comer of The Blacklist, hailing from Wagga Wagga in the Riverina of NSW.

Michael has been doing stand-up for a few years now, and his comedy is a mixed bag of personal experiences as a Dad, Husband and Indigenous Australian, as well as observational yarns.

He first graced the stage at the Deadly Funny (A National Indigenous Comedy Competition) in 2009, but after spending a few years working on his craft, he came back bigger and better and became a Deadly Funny National Finalist in 2017.

He frequents the stage at the Riverina Comedy Club and recently performed alongside Sean Choolburra during the 2017 Blackout Comedy Show.

To add to Michael’s list of achievements, in 2018, he became the ACT’s RAW Comedy Finalist and has performed in Melbourne, Sydney, Dubbo, Canberra, and anywhere you care to put a mic and a spotlight.

With 60,000 years of storytelling in his blood, Michael works insanely hard for his community, but it’s OK; you don’t have to be black to laugh.

Chris Radburn

Chris Radburn is an Award winning International headline comedian who has performed at every major comedy festival in Australia and with TV and Radio credits
including The Footy Show, Sydney Comedy Festival Gala, Foxtel, ABC, Nova, Triple M, 2GB and as an international finalist in America’s Last Comic Standing.
