His music impacted the peoples of Polynesia and brought a culture of faith far beyond the Pacific.

Sir Sofele Kakala was born the 21st of March 1916 and he passed September 30th 1991 after a life of great musical impact. He composed 12 full masses for the Catholic Church of Tonga. He composed for the schools where he taught, for the royal Tongan family, for villages and other churches. He also founded the Kava Social Club which spread across the globe - including 15 Fa’onelua Clubs in the United States alone.
