POLIGRODZIANIE Folk Dance Ensemble 50th Anniversary Tour. Celebrating Poland Independence Day

As one of the greatest Polish cultural heritage ambassadors, the Folk Dance Ensemble POLIGRODZIANIE visited 72 countries all over the World and travelled over two million kilometers during its 50 years of activity, performing in front of Jean Paul II, Mayor of New York, King of Kota Kinabalu Region, UNESCO, Presidents and Ministers of many countries like Israel, Malta, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Ireland or Mexico.

Poligrodzianie have won numerous prestigious awards including World Championship of Folklore 2015. They performed live auditions for national media in Sweden, Italy, Canada, Mexico, China, Serbia and Peru. Performing Polish traditional live music, dancing and singing, they paved the way for Polish artists in many parts of the World, being sometimes the first Poles visiting those sides. The Group gave concerts on the prestigious stages of Milan and Nashville, for the prisoners in the USA, in the Disneyland or in the Tibetan prairie.

Celebrating Poland Independence Day and Polish ties to Australia, the repertoire consists of Polish national and regional dances. The show presents Polish individuals, who shaped Aussies’ life to some extent, including Count Wladyslaw Zamoyski – nobleman and diplomat from Wielkopolska Region, the place of origin of first Polish Immigrants to Hill River, Sir Paul Strzelecki, who named Mount Kosciuszko and Prof. Jerzy Zubrzycki, the Father of Australian Multiculturalism.
