Alongside their works at the 2025 Sydney Festival, Annette Shun Wah speaks to two game-changing artists about their artmaking, finding their voices, and paving new paths for Asian Australian storytelling.
William’s Milestone is a monumental exploration of his eighty-year journey, blending iconic photography, music, and personal stories to address themes of identity, culture, and social change. Rainbow Chan’s own discovery of her heritage comes to life in her groundbreaking pop song cycle The Bridal Lament, set in a world of projection, movement, and colour.
