Two of the most brilliant exponents of both early and contemporary singing techniques, collaborate on a ravishing program of familiar and neglected masterworks.

Celeste Lazarenko and Helen Sherman are two of Australia's most brilliant exponents of both early and contemporary singing. Now they join the AHE to collaborate on a ravishing program of familiar and neglected masterworks, including the incomparable Stabat Mater by Pergolesi.

Composed in 1736, on the eve of his own death, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater has endured for centuries. Rousseau described the achingly beautiful interplay between soprano and mezzo as the most perfect and touching duet to come from the pen of any composer".

This glorious baroque program is completed by selections from Hasse's Oratorio Sanctus Petrus et Sancta Maria Magdelena which centres on Mary Magdalene and his Alte Nubes Illustrata motet. Both are works of dazzling brilliance.

A concert to lift the soul and gladden the heart.
