Workshop 1 - Tuesday 31 October 1:30pm

George Haddad’s Losing Face, set among a migrant family in Western Sydney, was a publishing sensation. He’ll run a workshop on writing identity, place, and belonging. He will be assisted by Felicity Castagna the author of Girls in Boys’ Cars.

Workshop 2 - Wednesday 1 November 1:30pm

Best-selling author Will Kostakis signed his first book deal whilst in High School after winning the Sydney Morning Herald Young Writer of the Year prize. He’s now the author of several books, as well as writing for news outlets and TV rooms. Will lead participants in a workshop that will cover developing characters and plot in order to write stories in any form. He will be assisted by Felicity Castagna the author of Girls in Boys’ Cars.

Workshop 3 - Wednesday 1 November 4:30pm

Donna Abela will lead participants in a workshop that will explore generating and shaping dialogue and dramatic action.

Donna has written award-winning plays for audiences of all ages, including the HSC Drama text Jump For Jordan. She has extensive experience developing new plays by emerging playwrights, and taught the bespoke Page to Stage course for NTofP in 2017 and 2021. Donna grew up in Western Sydney, and is a founding member and co-Chair of PYT Fairfield (aka Powerhouse Youth Theatre).
