Eliam Royalness is an artist & performer based in Sydney’s south-west and is one of the leading figures of Ballroom Australia- as the Father of ‘House of Juicy-Slé (AUS)’ & a member of ‘House of Nina-Oricci (USA)’. Eliam’s style is influenced by elements of various styles under the street dance umbrella with his main practice being Vogue- a dance style created by the Black & Latinx gay & trans community in Harlem, NY as a means to liberate themselves from the social & political challenges they endure(d). Vogueing is a powerful language and tool that has enabled queer POC individuals & communities across the world to harness their truths and navigate spaces society does not initially deem for them.
