Tracing Time

Venue Lennox Theatre
Dates 27 October 2013

Sometimes surprising, sometimes meditative, but always inspiring…Fine musicians Paul Capsis, Genvieve Lacey, Marshall McGuire and Kirsty McCahon will join our Chamber Singers in re-workings of some very popular pieces and songs that you might not think a choir could or ever would sing! In the words of David Bowie ‘changes are taking place’ and this concert will be an entertaining demonstration of what a choir can do – leave your preconceptions behind!

Program includes transcriptions of:

Mahler Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen (I am lost to the world) from the Rückert Lieder
Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 6 (Lacrimosa)
Ravel Soupir (Sigh) from Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé
Wolf Auf ein altes Bild (To an old picture)
Debussy Les Angélus

…plus classic pop songs from the last four decades

Featuring:

Paul Capsis – Vocalist
Genevieve Lacey – Recorder
Kirsty McCahon – Double Bass
Marshall McGuire – Harp
Sydney Philharmonia Chamber Singers

Conductor:

Brett Weymark

Due to unfortunate circumstances, this concert has been cancelled.
