“If maths were music, then Simon would be at the top of the class.”
Simon’s School Report – Year 4

Join one of Australia’s most inspiring young musicians, Simon Tedeschi as he takes us on a journey through a day in his life from 5am practice sessions, his first public performance age 8 at Sydney Opera House, winning the Sydney Piano Competition age 10 to playing in front of Luciano Pavarotti at the age of 13.

Through hilarious anecdotes as a boy, Simon recalls his pranks and practices which shaped his extraordinary life while playing some of his favourite music including Chopin’s Minute Waltz, Beethoven’s Fur Elise and in homage to his grandmother – a Polish Mazurka.

FROM THE EDUCATION COORDINATOR…

This is like a really cool music lesson that is taught by the cheeky kid in class! Your students will love being taken on this journey through Simon’s life, punctuated by classic pieces that have had significance to him throughout his life from child prodigy to concert pianist. Fundamentally, this show is about how much music can remind us of times, places, events and people, showing students the emotive value of music and giving them an INSIGHT into the role music can play throughout our lives. It is also a great production for linking into the study of people and their jobs – as Simon often speaks of the dedication and hard work that goes into his profession.
