Sydney Writers’ Festival 2018 presents

From Young Adult to fantasy to sci-fi, illustrators are frequently asked to create wildly imaginary worlds for the page. But how exactly does someone draw a realm they can never visit?

In this session, renowned illustrators discuss this question, explain how to draw a fantasy-world map and show examples of past work. Expand your imagination with author and illustrator Chris Riddell, Oscar-winning animator Shaun Tan, award-winning children’s illustrator Nicki Greenberg and A Song of Ice & Fire illustrator Levi Pinfold.
