LOVE HEART CARDIGAN
In 2011 8 theatre makers who all identify as having a disability attended 26 weeks of workshops in writing in theatre making. They worked alongside Beyond the Square’s Creative Director, Alison Richardson, with support by Jake Willis to come up with a showing of work. This work was called Love Heart Cardigan and was inspired by a recent story of an elderly lady who was found dead in her Surry Hills flat. She had been lying there for 8 years. The group explored the themes of going unnoticed, feeling invisible and disconnected and also the opposite of this so what it feels like to be visible and in the spotlight and drew on the personal, the imagined and research into the death of this lady to create the piece of theatre.
It is anticipated that there will be a full production in 2012.
