Where I’m From is a Pacific anthem, empowering tagata Moana to embrace who they are and celebrate where they come from.
Where I’m From is a new theatre play by Sāmoan writer, Gabriel Faatau’uu-Satiu. The show follows the journey of a tama’ita’i who fears performing a taualuga – a traditional dance & one of her duties bestowed upon her as the daughter of a high chief. To conjure up courage, she seeks advice from her friendship circle, a village of ride-or-die besties from different parts of the Moana.
Where I’m From explores music & dance from island nations across the Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian regions.
Here at Riverside, we recognise that bodies come in all different sizes. If you require additional space to enjoy the show in comfort, select an additional seat with your ticket at no extra cost under the plus-sized option.
We are proud to offer this community ticketing initiative for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and other First Nations communities, as a way to connect with those who share the rich culture and history that is sewn through our storytelling.
