We’re located on the corner of Church and Market Streets, in the heart of Parramatta. It is within walking distance of car parks and all forms of public transport.

Just a 30-minute drive from Sydney CBD, Riverside is part of the dynamic Parramatta Entertainment Precinct, the central city’s hub of live performances, cinemas, restaurants, bars, cafes and hotels. Playing host to the city’s vibrant nightlife.

By Car

Permanent traffic changes are now in place on and around Church Street (between Market & Macquarie Streets) for the Parramatta Light Rail.

Additionally, on CommBank Stadium event days the roads around Riverside are busier than usual with ticketholders making their way to the stadium during the afternoon or evening peak. For event days, check the CommBank event calendar.

Motorists traveling to Riverside should note these changes and events may affect the amount of time that it takes them to drive and park. Plan ahead by checking the LiveTraffic website.

By Train

Parramatta is linked from all directions by train. Riverside is approximately a 12-minute walk from Parramatta Train Station. Exit the station towards Parramatta Square (exit 5), turn left towards Centenary Square, Parramatta Town Hall and PHIVE. Turn right towards Church Street, and follow it up to the theatre, just across the Lennox Bridge.

Alternatively, we are a 5-minute light rail trip from Parramatta Square Light Rail stop to Prince Alfred Square (towards Westmead) on the L4 Westmead & Carlingford Line.

There is also an option of a quick bus ride using Parramatta’s FREE City Shuttle bus between 7am & 6:30pm on weekdays, and 8am to 4pm on weekends/Public Holidays – open the ‘By Bus’ option below for more details.

By Light Rail

Parramatta’s L4 Westmead & Carlingford Line is now open. Services are every 9 minutes in the peak (7am to 7pm), and 12-16 minutes in the off-peak on Monday to Friday; and 12 minutes in the peak (7am to 7pm) and 16 minutes in the off-peak on weekends. Alight at Prince Alfred Square Light Rail stop for a short walk to the theatre.

By Bus

Bus services are available to Parramatta from all directions: through Hills Bus, Sydney Buses and Hopkinsons. The nearest bus stops are on Wilde Ave/Smith St – a short walk away from the theatre.

Free Parramatta Shuttle Bus (Route 900)

If you need to get around the Parramatta CBD, the Parramatta Shuttle Bus is a fast, free and accessible service run by Transport for NSW through Transdev. Operating on a continuous loop starting from Macquarie Street near Centenary Square, the shuttle bus connects rail, bus and ferry transport interchanges with local shops, community hubs and Riverside Theatres.

The service runs every 10 minutes, between 7am & 6:30pm on weekdays and 8am to 4pm on weekends/Public Holidays. The trip takes approximately 25 minutes to complete the loop. The nearest bus stop to the theatre on the Parramatta Shuttle is Marist Place opposite St Patrick’s Cathedral. For a timetable and a route map visit transportnsw.info

By Taxi

The best drop-off point is located behind the theatre on Market Street. For pick-ups, a new secure taxi rank is located at 28 Phillip Street with security guards on duty every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm until 2am to keep you and your driver safe.
