TICKETING

How can I get information about up and coming shows at Riverside?
You can register over the counter or phone at Box Office, or online to receive regular communications via mail or email.

What shows are on and what are their prices and seating layouts?
You can use the search facility on this website to choose shows by keywords, interests or date ranges. Seating layout information is available here. The seating layout is also available to view while you are buying your tickets online. Alternatively, you can click on our What’s On tab and browse through our current and upcoming performances.

Can I choose my seat when booking online?
You are able to select your seats for specific shows by clicking on the section of the theatre you would like to sit in on the Seating Plan (Stalls and Circle/Gallery where applicable). The section will highlight when you place your cursor over it if it is available. You can then select from available seats in your choosen section. You can choose your own seating for the majority of Riverside’s performances and events. If you experience any problems, please call Box Office on 8839 3399 during business hours.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for my baby?
Babies under 18 months do not generally require a ticket if they are able to be held or sat on your lap. Children over 18 months are required to purchase a ticket. Please note that some producers have different rules and it is always a good idea to check on the specific show.

Why can’t I change my performance/date/time?
Riverside works within the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Code of Practice for the Ticketing of Live Entertainment Events in Australia. Tickets are not refundable and cannot be exchanged except as set out in the LPA Code of Practice for Event Ticketing in Australia. In the event a refund is granted, Riverside may retain any fee it has charged, to the extent permitted by law.

How long will it take to receive my tickets in the post?
Where you opt to have your tickets delivered to you by post, you can expect to receive them within 7 days of the date of purchase. If you purchase tickets less than 7 days before the performance date tickets must be collected from the Box Office.

Do transaction fees apply to bookings?
Transaction fees apply to all bookings made online, over the phone, in person at the Box Office. This is a per transaction fee, not a per ticket fee, that will be applied at the end of your purchase.

I’ve lost my tickets, what do I do?
Call one of our Box Office operators on 8839 3399 with your booking reference number and explain what has happened. They will arrange for a Lost Ticket Pass (replacement tickets) which can be collected from the Box Office on the day of the performance only.

What time does Box Office Open?
Box Office is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm and 1 hour prior to all performances.

DISABILITY ACCESS

Does Riverside offer audio-described services for patrons who are blind or have low vision?
Throughout the year, Vision Australia and Riverside offer audio-described services for specific shows. These live descriptions of the  visual elements aim to complement the theatre experience. For more information, call Box Office on 8839 3399 or visit the Accessible Events page

Does Riverside offer hearing assistance?
Riverside has installed new state-of-the-art hearing systems in all three theatres to assist patrons who are hearing impaired. When booking tickets, patrons can choose from a single ear earpiece, a neck loop attached to their own hearing aid or their own headphones, to amplify the sound from the stage. Patrons will receive a special ticket for hearing assistance, which they are required to present at the Bar on the day of their performance, in order to collect their earpiece or neck loop.

What accessibility services does Riverside offer throughout the theatre?
Riverside offers level access and space for wheelchairs in all venues. Accessible bathrooms are also available. Please let the Riverside Theatres box office know if you need level access or a wheelchair space at the time of booking your tickets.

Does Riverside offer accessible parking?
Yes, limited paid parking is available at the venue for patrons with a current disability parking permit. Patrons with particular seating needs, parking requirements, guide dogs or other special needs should advise Box Office at the time of booking. Accessible parking is $5*.

IN THE THEATRE

When are the foyers open?
Generally foyers are open 60 minutes prior to performance start time.

When do the doors to the theatre open so I can find my seat?
The doors usually open approximately 10-15 minutes prior to a show.

How do I find the door on my ticket?
Please check your ticket carefully for the correct venue and door number. The Lennox and Raffertys Theatres are located on the right-hand side as you enter the theatre from the main entrance. Riverside Theatre can be found on the left-hand side and has door numbers clearly marked down the foyer. If you are having difficulties finding your door, please ask an Usher for assistance.

Can I take photographs or make recordings during the performance?
No, due to copyright restrictions, it is not permitted to take any photos or make any recordings of productions.

Are there booster seats available for my children?
Yes, prior to the performance, please ask the Usher on your door for a booster seat. Please note, there are only a limited number of booster seats and they are available on a first come, first served basis.

USING THIS WEBSITE

Why can’t I login to my account to purchase tickets?
Ensure you have registered with Riverside and please make sure all your spelling is correct. If you have forgotten your password you can request to have it emailed to you simply by entering your email address on the password request page. If you are still having problems, call one of our Box Office operators on 8839 3399 and they can investigate further.

I’ve put in credit card info but have not received a confirmation email, has my booking gone through?
Do not put your credit card number again as you may be charged twice. Call Box Office straight away on 8839 3399 and the operator can check whether your card has been charged, and if not make the booking for you.

I’ve tried to set up a new account, but it’s telling me that I’m already a member.
This is probably because you have an existing Riverside account. If you don’t remember having set up an account, go to password request page. Follow the prompts and your existing password will be emailed to you. If you have any further problems, please call our Box Office on 8839 3399.

I get a warning message when I try to select my seat.
You are trying to select a seat that leaves one or three seats vacant beside you. Please try again by selecting a coloured square next to a grey (unavailable) square, without leaving a vacant seat.
