This ain’t quiet country. This is a smooth mix of country, soul and rock.

Saddle up for a big night out as Simply West ride into town, bringing a smooth blend of country, rock and rich vocal harmonies. With roots in Western Sydney and Brisbane, the band deliver heartfelt songs with plenty of groove, and enough grit to keep the dancefloor moving.

Drawing on their Pacific Islander, African and Portuguese heritage, Simply West’s sound is warm, modern and built for live rooms. Expect feelgood energy that hits just as hard at the bar as it does frontofstage.

In 2024, the band released their EP Best Is Yet To Come, featuring tracks like Already In Paradise, Wave, Fool That Don’t Belong and End of the Road, songs that balance classic country storytelling with soul and rock influences.

Some nights are made for boots on, drinks up and singing along. Kick up your spurs, grab a drink and settle in for a country bar style night that’s perfect for rowdy date nights, crew catchups and live music lovers who like their country with a little extra swagger.

Before Simply West hit the stage, Western Sydney local Rosita Vai sets the mood with her blend of poetry, hip hop, soul and gospel.

Simply West is part of
Undercurrent, three nights of sonic takeover that amplifies the future facing sound of Western Sydney. This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner.

She spent the majority of 2014 globetrotting in the ensemble cast of The Factory – a powerful story about migration, performing to sell-out audiences, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

Now living in western Sydney, Rosita played a lead role in Satiu Studio’s Breaking Bread (2021) & A Day in the Life of… (2022) and Pelesasa Pics’ Deity (2021) & Moni (2025). In 2025, Rosita collaborated with the Australian Chamber Orchestra & Club Weld, working on a music program for neurodiverse artists curated by the team at the Arts & Cultural Exchange, Parramatta. Rosita also founded Penina Creatives, an organisation dedicated to using music to help young people tell their story and to help them through personal struggles in life.
