Elsewhere in India’s Australian premiere of Jal, Jungle, Zameen (Water, Forest, Land) ft. Murthovic & Thiruda – Live A/V, reframes the climate debate by tracing its roots from pre-colonial philosophies of interconnectedness to the ruptures of empire and the resilience of grassroots resistance. The performance is structured as a narrative history, drawing from our deep research into India’s ecological movements.

The sonic landscape, led by Murthovic, will use ethnomusicological archives, sampling bioacoustics archives, and live electronic composition to evoke distinct eras: from the sacred sounds of Vedic chants, to the ecological ramifications of Colonialism and poetry of modern movements.

Jal, Jungle, Zameen uses our signature Indofuturist lens to ask vital questions for our planetary future, offering a potent perspective on environmental stewardship.
