A gentle tale of new beginnings set in beautiful but dangerous Kashmir

Gulzar, a young boatman working on Kashmir’s stunning Dal Lake, hopes to skip town in search of a better life. During a military curfew he meets a beautiful environmentalist who brings him on as a guide as she researches the lake’s ecosystem. As they navigate the floating landscape, an unlikely relationship blossoms. With the end of the conflict in sight, Gulzar must choose a future for himself. Weaving together documentary and fiction, ancient myths and contemporary issues, and the beauty and strife of Kashmir, this enchanting film tells a tender story of finding one’s path in a changing world.
