SANDY EVANS INDIAN PROJECT – WORLD MUSIC AND JAZZ
Featuring Bobby Singh
Give your students the unforgettable taste of an intimate jazz club environment with music that is made in the moment.
Join internationally renowned ARIA Award-winning saxophonist, composer and music researcher, Dr. Sandy Evans on a cross-cultural journey through music. The intoxicating combination of soulful melodies, spontaneous improvisations, stunning percussion solos and hypnotic grooves will transport you and your students to a world where Indian music intersects with jazz in a fusion of cultural styles.
Together with world music master Bobby Singh, Sandy and the ensemble will also demonstrate how Carnatic (South Indian Classical) music can help musicians explore rhythm in this comprehensive concert and workshop.
Cool for School concerts include a 1 hour performance, followed by a Q & A and an interactive workshop to break down the elements of improvised, jazz and world music.
