Riverside presents MAKEbeLIVE Productions and Cubby House Co
RUBY’S WISH
SHOW
By Holly Austin, Adriano Cappelletta and Jo Turner
Concept by Holly Austin
The beguiling story of Ruby, a little girl who may not believe in fairy tales but who certainly believes in wishes. Confined to a hospital bed for much of her childhood, little Ruby has had to grow up far too fast, and confront too much. But when she is visited by Dot, a tongue-tied clown doctor, she finds a way to use her greatest asset: her imagination.
A visual spectacular, Ruby’s Wish combines puppetry, comedy, animation, beatbox and clowning. This magical story transcends generations and proves there is no harm in believing.

FROM THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
One of the most imaginative performances you will ever see, this gorgeous play will make you question what is reality and what is make believe. Through stunning puppetry, compelling storytelling and brilliant clowning, Ruby’s Wish deals with a sensitive subject in a considered way, allowing students to examine important issues about life in that brilliant way that only theatre can. As well as all the learning that comes with it about different methods of storytelling, you’ll find lots to talk about in the classroom after this show.
