Join us for Opening Night, where we’ll screen some of Australia’s best new short films and web-series, followed by a fun networking event designed to have you meeting other like-minded indie filmmakers as well as key industry decision makers. The after party includes catering provided by Grill’d Parramatta and after party drinks!

Barry is a talented mechanic and family man whose life is torn apart on the eve of a zombie apocalypse. His sister, Brooke, is kidnapped by a sinister team of gas-mask wearing soldiers & experimented on by a psychotic doctor. While Brooke plans her escape Barry goes out on the road to find her & teams up with Benny, a fellow survivor – together they must arm themselves and prepare to battle their way through hordes of flesh-eating monsters in a harsh Australian bush land.

Paul and Sarah are old friends from uni, but when Sarah comes to stay, Paul decides to move them out of the friend-zone and into… the sex-zone (his words). But Paul doesn’t have the right moves so he decides to grab his chance, quite literally, by the boob. Cue scenes of disastrous lovemaking of epic proportions that threaten to end the friendship forever.

BEDHEAD is a five part web series that allows the audience to hear the embarrassingly honest thoughts that people think when they end up together in bed. Staring Paul Ayre (#7DaysLater), Sarah Bishop (Skitbox), Andrew Steel (Deadbeat Dads) & Jody Kennedy (A Moody Christmas) as four twenty-somethings experiencing the ‘Worst. Sex. EVER.’

BedHead, a five part web series, was selected for Fresh Blood which is an initiative from ABC TV and Screen Australia. Starring Paul Ayre (#7DaysLater), Sarah Bishop (Skitbox), Andrew Steel (Deadbeat Dads) and Jody Kennedy (A Moody Christmas), BedHead allows the audience to hear the embarrassingly honest thoughts that people think when they end up together in bed. BedHead is created by Ben Mathews, Claire Phillips, Jon Dalgaard, Reece A. Jones & Tom Keele. Episodes one and two will be screened at Opening Night.

Logline: A young boxer is forced to fight – and kill – for his Father’s love.

This Dog’s Life is the story of a young boxer desperate to win his Father’s love. His Father, who doubles as his coach, is a tyrant who will not tolerate failure. When the Boy is forced to fight an opponent twice his size, his chances of success are slim. Any hopes of impressing his Father are further squashed when the Boy’s greyhound fails to win at the track. With his shotgun in hand, the Father takes the opportunity to teach his son why one must not fail and what happens to those who do.

Tango Underpants, starring Emma Booth (Underbelly III, Cloudstreet, Clubland), is a short film about rediscovering your mojo – and the right underwear! Tango Underpants is co-directed by Perth siblings Miranda Edmonds and Khrob Edmonds, photographed by award-winning cinematographer Denson Baker ACS (Oranges And Sunshine, The Black Balloon), and proudly produced by Feisty Dame Productions’ Tania Chambers and Impian Films’ Stephen Van Mil. Is has screened at prestigious festivals around the world including Palm Springs International ShortFest 2014, Flickerfest International Short Film Festival 2014, 2014 St Kilda Film Festival and was nominated for four awards at the 26th annual WA Screen Awards including Best Short Form Drama.
