Sport for Jove presents
By William Shakespeare
“There are many things to praise in Damien Ryan’s production of Macbeth. I got shivers down my spine. The tension never dissipated. I cared about the Macbeth’s and so ultimately was saddened by their demise…horribly compelling.” – Entertainment Review
Sport for Jove’s critically acclaimed production of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy returns after a sell-out season in 2018.
In the aftermath of a bloody battle, Macbeth’s world is turned upside down when three witches prophesy about his future fortune – that he will become king.
Consumed by ambition and drunk with power, Macbeth embarks on a ruthless campaign to murder his king and take the throne for himself. But, in his attempt to cover his tracks and second-guess his rivals, Macbeth sinks deeper and deeper into horror and madness.
This immersive, haunting and atmospheric production will captivate fans of the play and those being introduced to it for the first time.
FYI This production contains smoke haze and loud noises.
