2013 I Palestine/Jordan I 4 minutes
Director: Firas Taybeh
MUSIC CLIP – WORLD PREMIERE
Shot in the Palestinian refugee camps of Jordan and Lebanon, Firas Taybeh’s video clip for ‘Ghosts of Deir Yassin’ is a statement about the Palestinian right of return and the hopes and determination of the Palestinian refugees, old and young, to return to their homeland.
In 2010, Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Phil Monsour travelled to the Burj el Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon, as well as to the West Bank. The song ‘Ghosts of Deir Yassin’ was inspired by the trip and the plight of the Palestinian refugees. In 2012, Phil returned to the camps to film the video clip with Firas Taybeh.
