EXHIBITION ON SCREEN: EASTER ART
By Seventh Art Production

The story of Christ’s death and resurrection has dominated western culture for the past 2000 years. It is arguably the most significant historical event of all time, as recounted by the gospels but, equally, as interpreted by the greatest artists in history.

From the triumphant to the savage, the ethereal to the tactile, an extraordinary range of western civilisation’s greatest artworks focus on this pivotal moment. Now, for the first time, EXHIBITION ON SCREEN brings you a beautifully crafted film exploring the Easter story as depicted in art, from the time of the early Christians to the present day.

Exhibition on screen offers a fascinating exploration into the ambition, the pain, the suffering and the glory in this intensely focused drama. Closely examining the relationship between art and its ability to tell our human story, the film draws on the themes of what it means to be human, what it means to suffer and what it means to die. Shot on location in Israel, the United States and throughout Europe, this moving film narrates not only the greatest story ever told, but arguably the greatest story ever painted – a story that reveals much about the history of civilisation and, therefore, the history of us.
