Damien Leith – The Parting Glass: An Irish Journey

Venue

Riverside Theatre

Dates

20 March 2016

Performing with a five piece band, playing Irish classics and old favourites. Damien takes you to Ireland with a tale of love and loss through great humour, emotion and music. Slainte! (pronounced ‘slahn-cha’, Irish for good health)

The show which incorporates both a play and a musical concert of classic Irish songs is set in an Irish pub and see’s Damien take on the character roles of both a father and a son who are catching up on lost time over a few drinks.

Filled with great conversation and humour, heartfelt emotion and a repertoire of rousing and touching Irish Songs (Danny Boy, Raglan Road, Toss the Feathers, Rocky Road to Dublin…),The Parting Glass is a show like no other. It showcases Damien as not only an exceptional musician and singer, but as a talented and engaging actor.

Audiences will be taken on a journey through words and songs, invited into the snug of an Irish pub with two endearing characters – they may laugh, they may cry but above all else, they’ll certainly be entertained.

“The rousing renditions of traditional Irish songs were a highlight…” – Anna Vlach, The Adelaide Advertiser

“An entertaining Irish-flavoured experience courtesy of a talented performer.” – Jamie Wright, Theatre Guide Australia
