In a world where football stars are glamorous playboys and a lover can be courted with a text message, are all women so easy to keep? That’s the question Cosi asks in this deliciously irreverent setting of Mozart’s delightful comic opera.
Two overpaid, testosterone-filled young football players make a bet with their coach that their fiances will always be faithful and they hatch a plan to put them to the test. When the girls are hoodwinked into meeting two new players from another even more highly paid game, the fun begins. This is opera like you’ve never seen it before, in guernseys and shorts.
Pacific Opera is rapidly gaining a reputation for producing the opera stars of tomorrow. With its unique combination of attractive young singers, musical excellence and high energy performance, it is a refreshing and entertaining way to enjoy some of Mozart’s most beautiful music.
