Cause Film Festival is an annual festival where filmmakers and charitable organisations can share their messages with the public through the art of film. We invite you to join the filmmakers on their journeys and learn about the force of good in the world!
The aim of the festival is to support charities and good causes and at the same time as giving filmmakers the opportunity to assist in promoting the charity or cause that they support. In addition to a fantastic prize pool, box office from the festival will be donated to the cause or charity represented by the winning film.
On the Festival night we will be screening the 10 finalists’ films selected for their originality, creativity, plot, pacing, structure, characters, cinematography and entertainment value.

I started Cause Film Festival last year. I am an advocate for Ovarian Cancer Awareness and through my journey I realised that there are so many people who advocate for so many great causes. I had an overwhelming feeling that it is just as important for everyone else to spread their messages then it is for me to spread mine. Working in the film industry it was the only and most obvious way I knew how to achieve that.
Creating a platform for everyone to get their messages out there, and to encourage them to make videos that they can spread around the world, is an honor and I truly hope that film makers can see the benefit and opportunity here.
I also want charities to get behind the filmmakers and get involved in the process, encouraging film makers to create videos that the charities can also use after the festival is over.
Unlike other festivals, we don’t have any requirements that demand premiering of films at this festival. But we also respect the films that are not allowed to be shared online in order to honor contracts with other festivals.
Once the festival organisers have viewed all the films to make sure they all fall under the guidelines, we open the contest for public voting via the Cause Film Festival website. Public voting is important as it gives the ability to market and spread your message. This runs at the same time as the official judging process where films will be marked for their originality, creativity, plot, pacing, structure, characters, cinematography and entertainment value. All the marks will be calculated and the top ten finalists chosen.
The top 10 films will be announced as our official selection and will be the films screened on festival night vying for a fantastic prize pool. The winning films will be the highest scoring during the judging process and online voting and will be announced and awarded on the night.
