Avocado Smash serve up a delicious musical show of original toe-tapping hits for kids! Come bounce around to the Brekkie Rap and throw your arms in the air to the Chilli Song with this multi award-winning show!

Join this dynamic trio for a bonanza of musical variety with different languages, vocal harmonies and smashing dance moves!

Avocado Smash perform at festivals and education centres, including at Finders Keepers Market, Marrickville Festival and Bondi Festival of the Winds. Winners of the San Diego Fringe Tour Ready Award 2019, the Inner West Council EDGE Development Award 2019 and nominated for the Sydney Fringe Festival Nida Emerging Artist Award – this show is a must-see!

Riverside’s front doors along with performance venue doors will open simultaneously 40 minutes before the show.

Come join JoJo from Avocado Smash in an interactive musical workshop for you and your child! Experience the art of music-making with singing, body percussion, dancing and more.

This workshop will be socially distanced in our Studio, places are limited.

Suitable for ages 4 – 6

Workshops will take place in our Riverside Studio which has a separate entrance at 353 Church St and is clearly sign posted. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the workshop.
Children must be supervised by an adult. The adult can attend for free but we only have space for one adult for each child.

We have developed the Spot On Children’s Festival in line with federal and state government health guidelines, and following consultation with Live Performance Australia, other NSW venues, and various government bodies, on enhanced health, hygiene and safety measures.These measures include: reduced audience capacity with socially-distanced seating; extra cleaning; increased sanitisation of high-touch surfaces; the provision of hand sanitiser, anti-bacterial wipes and hand washing facilities throughout the venue; traffic management plans to alleviate congestion in public spaces; and dedicated COVID Safe Hygiene Marshals.

Tickets will be sold as General Admission and your seats will be allocated 48 hours before the performance in our socially distanced theatres. Please advise us if your booking isn’t for a family or household group so we can seat you safely.

It is also important that if you are unwell you stay home, we have updated our ticket conditions and our Box Office team are available to talk through your exchange and refund options.

Joanna Brooke is a vibrant singer and music educator based in Sydney. Joanna composers for and performs with award-winning family music group Avocado Smash. The group have recently won the San Diego Fringe Tour Ready Award 2019 and the Inner West Council EDGE Development Award 2019 and perform regularly across Sydney. With a Bachelor of Social Work (Hons), Joanna has extensive experience in early childhood and community development, which she brings to her teaching. Joanna is also the conductor of several choirs including the Jubilate Singers, the Fairfield Sydney Children’s Choir and Forest Lodge Public School Choirs. In 2020, Joanna is the proud recipient of River City Voices’ Assistant Conductor Scholarship. A classical singer in her own right, Joanna performs regularly as a soloist, including in Vivaldi’s Gloria in D with Hobart Orpheus Singers in 2018, Carols at St. Matthews in 2019, and two upcoming performances of Mozart’s Requiem in Sydney and Hobart.
