Riverside’s Upstage Club is a theatre club for young people ages 15 to 22 who are enrolled in full-time secondary or tertiary education in Year 11+ (selected by application).
It offers successful applicants access to 5 performances, in conjunction with some exclusive workshops led by professional theatre makers, throughout the year. Participants become a tight-knit community of young performance lovers, whilst extending their understanding of theatre-making and appreciation in a supportive, collaborative, and invigorating environment.
Applicants must have an interest in live performance and a thirst to learn as much as they can about all aspects of the professional performing arts industry. This program is a year-long commitment, and all club members must attend 4 out of 5 of the events offered to remain in the club.
Upstage Club members will be invited to participate in other youth initiatives throughout the year run by Riverside Theatres which will provide further networking opportunities with artists and young people and give them more exposure to the professional theatre industry.
Upstage Club Members will also be invited to participate in consultation sessions with Riverside Theatres to advise on Youth programming and engagement.

Cost: Upstage Club has a low cost to participants of a $50 membership fee for the whole year. This includes 5 workshops and 5 performances (to the value of approx. $350). The membership fee is payable by the first event on March 8 2025.
