Riverside and Sport for Jove Theatre Company present
MACBETH
By William Shakespeare

Sport for Jove’s critically acclaimed, thrilling production of Macbeth returns after sell-out seasons in 2015 and 2016.

On a barren heath, three sisters tell the great and bloodied Macbeth that he is fated to be King of Scotland. So begins a terrifying series of events that lead to the murder of Kings, friends, mothers and their children. Macbeth and his Lady fall prey to a soul-corroding guilt as they desperately try and cling to the defiled crown.

This haunting production is an atmospheric, faithful and exciting introduction to Shakespeare’s play for young audiences.

Please note: This production contains haze and loud noises.

FROM THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR

This is the third time Riverside has had this particular production of ‘The Scottish Play’ and that is because it is so good! It has everything your students will want it to have including horror, gore, sword fighting, ghosts, murder, revenge, and even a pretty scary severed head. The atmosphere this production creates is immersive and spine-tingling and will really show your students exactly how exciting Shakespeare can be when it is done well. If you didn’t catch this production the last two times, make sure you don’t miss it this time. But get in quick as it will sell fast!
