Burlinson and Sinatra Retrospective

Guys and Dolls

Venue Raffertys Theatre
Dates 02 September - 19 September 2016

To celebrate Tom Burlinson performing the classic live album Sinatra at the Sands at Riverside on 10 September in honour of Sinatra’s 100th birthday, we are screening a retrospective of a number of Burlinson and Sinatra films. This classic will also screen on Monday 19 September as part of our Weekday Matinee Series.

Gambler Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra) has few options for the location of his big craps game. Needing $1,000 to pay a garage owner to host the game, Nathan bets Sky Masterson (Marlon Brando) that Sky cannot get virtuous Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) out on a date. Despite some resistance, Sky negotiates a date with her in exchange for bringing people into her mission. Meanwhile, Nathan’s longtime fiancée, Adelaide (Vivian Blaine), wants him to go legit and marry her.

Featuring hit songs Luck Be A Lady, Adelaide and of course Guys and Dolls, you’ll love seeing this classic musical back up on the big screen!
