Sydney Writers’ Festival 2018

Sydney Writers Festival 2018: The Year of Power

Sydney Writers’ Festival is taking over Riverside once again for a full day of Young Adult (YA) programming on Saturday 5 May 2018, from 10am – 6pm. The colossal All-Day YA line-up includes bestselling author Patrick Ness, screenwriter and author Jesse Andrews, and poet and artist Cleo Wade. Local authors include Alice Pung, Shaun Tan and Jay Kristoff. That night, the freshest performing young writers will battle it out over three minutes to be named The Rumble Champion 2018.

On Saturday night, Jacqui Lambie, one of the most heartfelt and unscripted figures in Australian Parliament, will talk to ABC Radio Sydney’s Richard Glover about her remarkable life. Foreign correspondent and The First Casualty author Peter Greste will be in conversation with journalist Hamish Macdonald. He will examine the threat to investigative journalism in the age of terror and fake news, as part of the Festival’s 2018 Year of Power.
