Overview

One hundred years ago, red and blue crayons in hand, British diplomat Mark Sykes and French counterpart François Georges-Picot met over a map and set about redrawing borders in very straight lines.

The effects of the colonial carve up resonate into the present as history finds meaning with an eclectic new theatrical work, where we re-imagine history through spoken word poetry and prose, drama, parkour movement and qanunic music.

In National Theatre of Parramatta’s role as a capacity building organisation, this production sees support of a newly established Arabic theatre company – Third Space Productions. Indeed it is their premiere professional production. NTofP have assisted with a venue and professional backbone for the company and are thrilled to be offering Third Space this opportunity which they have been able to produce through Australia Council funding.
