We run the following playwriting programs and groups:
An advanced playwriting mentorship. A selected number of participants develop their works with the help of mentor Donna Abela. The program culimates with readings of the new work. Watch this space to see which opportunities have been created as a result of the program.
PLAYWRIGHTS OF PARRAMATTA (POP)
A group dedicated to playwriting enthusiasts and emerging writers. The aim of this group is to create a space for Western Sydney writers to engage and collaborate with each other. Along the year our POP group was given the opporutnty to see a number of productions at Riverside followed by talks with playwrights like Tommy Murphy,
In 2016 and 2017 we held readings of new works by NIDA’s Masters of Writing graduates.
Occasionally we also offer creative workshops focused around playwriting or developments. In 2017 we welcomed Dr Stephen Sewell, Head of Writing at NIDA, as part of a playwriting workshop for beginners.
