The 2017 Lysicrates Martin Prize
We’re thrilled to be presenting a new prize with The Lysicrates Foundation and Griffin Theatre Company awarded to playwrights writing for children. We’re currently seeking the First Act of a play, submissions close Friday 18th August, click here to find out more.
Playwriting Australia IGNITION Program
Now open for submissions, IGNITION is a 4 year creative script-development program in partnership with producing companies that aims to extend the range, scale and diversity of playwriting works. Submissions close on Monday 25th September, click here for more information.
WestWords and Varuna
The Emerging Writers’ Residential program is for fiction, non-fiction narrative and poetry writers. This residential program will take place at The Writer’s House in the Blue Mountains and is only available to four writers, applications for this program close at midnight Tuesday 8th August. Australia Council Career Development Grants
For individual artists, arts workers or group of artists, grants are available between $5,000-$20,000 to develop further skills and advance professional careers. The next round of applications is now open until Tuesday 3rd October for projects starting in 2018, click here to apply.
The annual Create NSW grant rounds are now closed, there are still a number of remaining individual scholarships and fellowships. The Western Sydney Artist Fellowship is for artists, performers, writers, dancers and arts makers living in Western Sydney. The Writer’s Fellowship is also available for writers of fiction, non-fiction, graphic as well as those writing for performance. The Performing Arts Fellowship is also available for both emerging and mid-career and established performers. Applications to these fellowships have been extended to Monday 21st August, click here for more information.
The Australian Cultural Fund (ACF)
The ACF provides a platform for artists to raise funds towards their projects and build awareness of their work. Managed by Creative Partnerships, the platform is an easy to use way for artists to grow support for their work. Click here to set up your profile.
Private Sector Funding
A new report by The Bureau of Communications and Arts Research (BCAR), in collaboration with Creative Partnerships Australia, has released new analysis on private sector support for Australia’s vibrant arts and culture sector, read the report here.
Australian Theatre Forum 2017
The theme for this year’s Australian Theatre Forum (ATF) is About Time: Listen. Examine. Speak. Celebrate. Returning to Adelaide Festival Centre from the 3rd to 5th October, the ATF sees practitioners, producers and cultural provocateurs from across the country come together to exchange ideas. NIDA Information Night
NIDA opens its doors for the night, a chance to get an insight into the range of courses on offer for 2018. Applications to the courses will close on Saturday 30th September, to find out about these head to the Info Night on Wednesday 16th August. See here for all the details.
