Stolen

July 5, 2016

We would like to thank everyone who came to see our second production Stolen by Jane Harrison, directed by renowned Indigenous performance-maker Vicki Van Hout at Riverside Theatres. We were pleased to see so many different faces and ages make their way to Parramatta to see this important play, which still resonates today almost 18 years after it was first performed.

Thank you to the talented Stolen team Vicki Van Hout, Imogen Ross, Phil Downing, Toby K, Annette Rowlison, Carl Sciberras, Bianca ‘Bee’ Cruse, and to the wonderful cast Henrietta Baird, Matilda Brown, Mathew Cooper, Berthalia Selina Reuben and Kerri Simpson, who worked so tirelessly on this production.

We would like to thank Robert Love and the whole team at Riverside Theatres for their continued help and support. We can’t wait to show you what’s next!

Stolen is on the school syllabus and deserves to be. This production, infused with dance and song cycle, is an innovative and energetic entre into the study of this powerful, enduring and evolving text”
Richard Cotter, Australian Stage

“Van Hout and her ensemble have delivered a fresh and emotionally affecting take on an Australian classic, well worth the trip to Sydney’s west for those who normally restrict their theatre diet to within their capital city”
Steve Dow, Limelight Magazine

“The play is at once a chance to reflect on the tragedies of our recent past and a celebration of the endurance of Aboriginal people and their diverse cultures.”
Ben Neutze, Daily Review
