Welcome to Summer

“For the times they are a-changing.”
Bob Dylan

As Parramatta rapidly changes, Riverside too is reinventing itself. So we would like to welcome you to the brand spanking new publication, CentreStage, from Riverside Theatres, Parramatta. Our first ever edition kicks-off with all things Summer, plus our annual highlights for 2017. Click here to view it online, pick up a copy in our foyer or call our friendly Box Office staff on 8839 3399 to request one.

CentreStage will be published every quarter in time for each season i.e. Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. It includes many of the aspects of our previous What’s On monthly booklet as well as our Annual Season brochure and rolls them into one easy-to-read magazine. It will also give you more related stories, updates of changes on Eat Street, and loads more. Read the complete magazine at your leisure or look through perusing just a section or two.

It’s been a terrific year at Riverside. We have seen almost 200,000 people through our doors participating in over 1,200 extraordinary events. Riverside is now ranked the number two busiest performing arts centre in Australia, outside of a capital city venue. We are very proud of this achievement. We know that Riverside is a highly respected venue and often referred to as a leading role model within arts circles. More importantly we know from our major survey, completed earlier this year, that our patrons love the Riverside experience and value what we do. Thanks for your feedback on the venue, the program, the things we are doing well and the things we can improve. We are already using this information to plan for the future so stay tuned for news of some changes to make Riverside even better.

Riverside also ranks in the top four venues in Australia for the sheer size of our schools education program. More than 32,000 primary and secondary students come through our doors annually from all over NSW and the ACT to participate in
a mix of live performances, workshops, competitions, masterclasses, Q&As, and screenings. The work we present is seriously valued by educators and students alike.

In 2017, Sydney Festival promises to be a hit again when it returns to Sydney’s Central City, Parramatta, with an amazing line-up of events under the leadership of the new Artistic Director, Wesley Enoch. You can pick up the Sydney Festival guide or Parramatta guide in the Riverside foyer next time you visit.

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new Riverside Membership for 2017. This new way of purchasing tickets will save you money and comes with an exciting mix of Member Only benefits including invites to special events
throughout the year.

In the Summer edition we give you a taste of the delicious selection of shows heading to Riverside in 2017. We’ve arranged these into assorted packages that might entice – comedy, musicals and cabarets, major performing arts, dance, theatre, nostalgia and classic plays, families, and performances that will appeal to Generation Y. We hope you enjoy your first edition of CentreStage and the wonderful line-up of events we have planned at Riverside in the coming months.

See you at the theatre!
