Globe On Screen

Celebrating its fifth fantastic year, Globe On Screen returns in 2015 with a brand new season of sell-out performances and captivating theatre from the London home of Shakespeare, The Globe Theatre. Experience the unique magic of this world-famous stage as productions are captured live in high definition and presented with full surround sound on our big screen.

The new season contains thrilling new productions, featuring the Globe Artistic Director Dominic Dromgoole’s sell-out envisioning of Roman classic Julius Caesar, an iconic struggle between love and duty in Antony & Cleopatra and the uproariously chaotic The Comedy of Errors to, as well as Shakespeare’s late great masterpiece The Tempest starring Olivier Award Winner Roger Allam, the mesmerising production of Macbeth and the hilarious A Midsummer Night’s Dream starring Olivier Award Winner Michelle Terry.

National Theatre Live

Theatre lovers, don’t miss the latest National Theatre Live series on Riverside’s big screen. Featuring world-class actors, enjoy these top productions without having to buy a ticket to London!

Upcoming highlights include Man and Superman by Bernard Shaw starring Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient, Schindler’s List) in an exhilarating reinvention of this witty, provocative classic.

The Audience by Peter Morgan (The Queen) returns to our big screen fresh off the back of the record-breaking Australian cinema box office success. Helen Mirren stars as the Queen (Winner of two 2013 Olivier Awards).

BAFTA winner Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) stars in the dynamic new production of one of English drama’s oldest plays, Everyman.

Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s Sherlock, The Imitation Game, Frankenstein at the National Theatre) takes on the title role of Shakespeare’s great tragedy, Hamlet.

Aida, Gail Edwards’ (Carmen, Madama Butterfly) mammoth production, has been filmed live in front of the stunning backdrop of Sydney’s skyline, stars, and a crescent moon and will be screened at Riverside.

Featuring Verdi’s masterful score, this glittering, kaleidoscope spectacle includes a giant 15-ton bust of Nerfertiti to spectacular costumes, live camels, and a customary fireworks display that is not to be missed.
