Exclusive to Riverside Theatres from 30 July to 8 August is the highly anticipated Riverside Production Shellshock, a new heart-felt and quirky play about Gallipoli by Justin Fleming.
Directed by former Artistic Director and CEO of Sydney Theatre Company, Wayne Harrison, with set and costuming by ingenious designer Anna Gardiner, the new production has an exceptional cast including Jack Finsterer (Kokoda), Sandy Gore (Travelling North, Parramatta Girls), Francesca Savige (The Crucible, Packed to the Rafters) and Yalin Ozucelik (TV’s Gallipoli).
Shellshock will also star one of Australia’s emerging young actors, Benson Jack Anthony (Underbelly: Razor), as fourteen year old Tom Lindsay.
Featuring shadow puppets by one of Australia’s leading puppeteers, Sue Wallace (Nella’s Wings) and brilliant lighting design by Matt Marshall (Rainbow’s End, R+J), Shellshock is an unusual love story of an Australian teenager and his tortoise friend, Herman, the oldest living survivor of the Gallipoli campaign.
Shellshock is the third in as many shows at Riverside Theatres in 2015 to commemorate the Centenary of ANZAC. It promises to be a highly entertaining and uplifting experience for audiences of all ages!
